KGI Securities’ super Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that a wireless charging feature for the Apple iPhone 8 is a sure thing. It might be a sure thing, but it also doesn’t appear to be a free thing. A report published today out of Japan cites a reliable source, who states that Apple will be offering an optional accessory for wireless charging. According to the report, a company called Luxshare will be providing Apple with the accessory that allows users to power up the battery without wires. The same firm is believed to be supplying the coils for the wireless charger that comes out of the box with the Apple Watch.
The report also adds that Apple will no longer bundle a Lightning to 3.5mm cable with the iPhone.
