Last month, Samsung showcased two brand new tablets in Russia: the Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus. Now, the company is officially confirming that the latter will be available in Europe starting May. More specifically, the slate will be launched in Germany, where it’s going to be called just Galaxy Tab A.

The new tablet sports a 9.7 inch display with an unimpressive 768 x 1024 pixel resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio, and fortunately runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A is made for people who want to read ebooks, browse the web, and use email on their slate. Thus, we’re not dealing with a top-of-the-line device here. The Galaxy Tab A is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, further featuring 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable internal memory, and a 6000 mAh battery. The tablet has a 2 MP camera on the front, and a 5 MP one on the back.
