The Internet of Things (IoT) will account for over 20 billion devices in just a few short years. These devices are either connected to the Internet or they are transmitting data wirelessly – through Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and near field communication – that is then relayed to the cloud. Some of these devices may only transmit very small amounts of data. These trivial transmissions will add up and help us create a world where everything can be measured and manipulated with Big Data Applications.
