Toronto-based financial and economic search engine Quandl is making a strategic effort to add more alternative datasets to its database of financial information, to provide trading and investment firms with insights to help generate alpha.
“Alternative” data constitutes any data that is not typically made available to Wall Street firms by traditional sources, says Quandl chief executive Tammer Kamel.
