Climate change poses an existential threat to who we are and how we function as a society. Rising global temperatures, fueled by excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, will result in strained infrastructure, species loss, and sea level rise. The consequences of these changes will be catastrophic for many and disruptive at a level that is difficult to fully comprehend. Some of these changes are already underway, with rising ocean levels eroding coastal cities and towns and fundamental changes occurring in weather patterns and species migration. Other more profound consequences are on the horizon.
