Apple A10X chipset for next year’s iPads hit Geekbench, produce high scores

Just the other day, we told you to expect three new versions of the Apple iPad Pro for 2017. Powering each of the new slates will be the Apple A10X SoC. Traditionally, the chip inside the current year’s iPad is an enhanced version of the chip inside the latest iPhone. Apple designates this the “X” version of the chip.

That means the new iPad units will be driven by the A10X chipset. And already we can tell you that this SoC is a beast. On Geekbench, the A10X tallied 4236 on the single-core test, and 6588 on the multi-core test.
