Apple holds employee meeting to celebrate selling one billion iPhone handsets

For many, the world changed on January 9th, 2007. That was the day when Steve Jobs introduced the Apple iPhone at Macworld. It was love at first sight for consumers, despite a rather high price tag, slow EDGE connectivity and some missing features that were added in future models. Once the iPhone was released, the smartphone industry changed. Some companies like BlackBerry were never the same, while others like Samsung were up to the challenge.

What brings all of this up isn’t a wave of nostalgia, but the news that this morning Apple employees attended a meeting in Cupertino.
