Oculus, HTC, Samsung, Google, Acer Starbreeze, Sony create Global VR Association

Five of the biggest names in the industry have come together to create a Virtual Reality consortium. The companies, typically rivals in the VR market, are hoping to promote responsible development and adoption of VR around the world. The Global Virtual Reality Association has high profile members including Google, HTC Vive, Facebook’s Oculus, Samsung, and Acer Starbreeze with their StarVR.

As with any industry consortium, the GVRA will exist to bring together experts and focus on best practices. The VR world is currently a mess from a standards perspective.
