Users were forced to plug their phone into an outlet to reset the gadget.
Apple has been working on fixing the bug for some time and says that the iOS 10.2.1 update should fix the issue on the majority of iPhone 6 and 6s handsets.
Around 50 per cent of iPhone users already have the update installed on their phone.
After letting the update run on a large number of devices Apple has shared statistics on its effectiveness.
