Both 5G smartphones and 5G mobile networks got off to a rocky start last year pretty much worldwide, but as wireless carriers are rapidly expanding the availability of their next-gen cellular services while handset vendors and chip manufacturers are working together to make the devices of the future cheaper and cheaper, the industry is certainly moving towards a major transformation at a faster and faster pace.
After totaling just 24 million units or so during 2020’s first three months, global 5G smartphone sales are forecasted to go up to 250 million for the entire year.
