HMD’s Pie update roadmap had a conspicuous absence – the Nokia 2. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, got plenty questions about it on Twitter and posted an explanation of what’s going on.
The Nokia 2 is not getting Pie and while it’s due for an Oreo serving, it comes with fine print. Since Oreo requires more resources, it will not run as smoothly as Nougat (the phone’s original software).
So HMD will give you the choice: stick with the old Nougat software or get the more recent Oreo at the cost of UI snappiness. The option to update will be available soon.
